In the past few months, we have had a lot of people posting links to excellent articles and content all over the internet. That is great as it makes our forums a one-stop shop to find all of these articles. However, we decided to lay down a few ground rules to ensure that we are not breaking copyright law and that we are being fair to the content creators.
Please follow these rules whenever posting content on this site that is not your own:
Articles and other Written Content:
Give a brief introduction as to what the article is about and then provide a link to the article. You can copy the first paragraph or two of the article and post it under the link as a teaser. Do not copy the whole article onto our site. Also do not copy anything that would give the reader here the main point of the article (such as the picture of a sasquatch that is being discussed) if so posting it would keep the viewer from clicking the link and going to the other site. We want our readers to go to other peoples' sites which will help to strengthen the community as a whole.
If they are hosted on a private site, link to the host page. If they are on YouTube, you can embed the video in your post, since embedding a YouTube video links back to the original.
Enter the Year, Month, Continent, Country, State and County/Province each as a separate tag.
[January] [North America] [Canada] [British Columbia] This is important to help searching results.
If you are writing an original piece here with a photos found elsewhere, provide a link to the original place where you found the photos and give credit under the photo. If possible, obtain permission before using the photo.
If something of yours has been posted on our forums and you want it removed or otherwise credited, please let us know by clicking the report option on the topic that is at issue. We want everyone to be happy with our site and our conduct, so please let us know if there is a problem.
